Does anyone think Johansson has value at +156? He's been a beast since his return. Thoughts comments?

In my humble ( and this week rotten ) opinion, at this stage I would say no. I would give Johansson a couple more months before giving him a good dogs chance of beating Davydenko. Del Potro had plenty of chances to break JJ yesterday but couldnt win the big point at the right time, and Davydenko just keeps rolling. I think JJ is still a couple months away from competing and beating the top players, however when his serve is on ( 17 aces yesterday ) he does have a punchers chance.

Im waiting for players to figure out Davydenko, and Ljubicic for that matter, but they both keep winning. I thought both players overachieved with their rankings last season, but they still keep piling up the wins.

I should have stuck to my normal practice of not betting after the US Open, but I thought this Masters Series event might be different. How wrong I was.:Sad Face: :smoking: :cryingcry :nohead:

i'm with syd. Even tho JJ has the flawless indoor hardcourt record, I can't back him vs in form Davydenko.

syd, I didn't follow his match Vs del Potro--thks for that info, Juan certainly had his chances going 0-8 in break point opportunities. IF IF JJ does not serve strong today, Davydenko , a FANTASTIC retriever, will not fail in breaking JJ's serve. If JJ serve is on, then it's the battle of the tiebreakers. From the back, once the serve is in, it's no competition really, Davy is much stronger, and i'd expect him to play a lot to Pim Pim's backhand.

if I had to play this, i'd take Nicokay.

I would take JJ here. Love fading Davy :)

But there are much better options on the card.

I think that JJ is a couple of months away from matching it consistently with the big boys, and he must be excited about his chances for 2007 if he can get a full offseason under his belt. He was one of the favourites ( Federer aside ) for last years Aussie Open after having a great start to the season, but with all of his injuries he is a few months behind the guys who have established themselves in the bottom half of the top 10. In saying that it wouldnt take him much to become a consistent quarter/semi finalist should he get back close to where he once was, especially with that booming serve of his.

Del Potro had plenty of chances against JJ yesterday, but the killer was in the second game of the second set, with Del Potro leading 1-0, he had JJ 00-40 and couldnt win that vital fourth point to go ahead 2-0 and change the momentum of the match back somewhat in his favour.
